Program Mission

The USA City Games provides continuous opportunities for The LA Watts Summer and Winter Games, and youth sporting programs & events for underserved communities in Los Angeles and expansion to like-minded communities throughout the country

As an established event since 1968 under the name of L.A. Watts Summer Games, USA City Games™ will ultimately attract the participation of approximately 15,000 athletes from both the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), and, for the first time, the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks (and nearby jurisdictions).

Support from local leadership and Mayoral Offices credit The Games as a positive outlet for inner-city youth. Our vision is to expand USA City Games™ into a nationwide franchise youth athletic, health and fitness event that celebrates the well being of the participants and facilitates bright futures for students in urban communities throughout America.

Continuing the vision set forth by the L.A. Watts Summer Games, MIHP serves to organize, produce and operate USA City Games™.  The goal is to foster young aspiring athletes while providing an educational, health and athletic pathway for them to strive for excellence, embrace commonalities, respond to leadership, accept diversity and overcome adversity through engagement in team sports.
